The Adventures of Squid and Fish

So the world starting to get very very busy. I was Ill so first thing was the catch up.  Step one production hours ... i officially hate plastic bottles! Self evolving design... pahh.

Phadras Love -

So far I have spent 9 hours  this week attaching bottles to walls! tI have constant cramp in my hand from the glue gun and my skin is ripped apart from the wire. I cant wait till that part of its over!

On Sunday i wiggled my way into my first paintcall and i am soo Happy. All the Girls are lovley and its a really good paint the set! I loved working on it Spattery and wonderful. Great Lunch with them and it was amazing to be covered in paint once more!



                                                                  Chasing Eden

Chasing Eden is  Film im doing set Dressing for and its really exciting. It got Some famouse Actors in it the biggets being sean Patrick Flanery and the Set design and style look amazing. So filming for that starts on Satuarday and runs right up till the enf of April. I cant wait to get to work on it!

Im also doing grip work for another movie Banshe in spring break not anything art but great experience!

Yay!! Finally we are working on somthing i am really really excited for. We are doing transulies on canvas. We are talking painting by mochania.(?) Im excited but felt abit patronised when they gave us all pre gridded paintings!!

3d sculptor class

So after feeling like I had a lot of free time i decided it was about time to talk to the right people. As Scenic Painting is  an MFA course Im not involved in any of the productions directly and it was really starting to miss it. Back home i moan about not having classes and here I moan about not having productions, I say the perfect mix would be 3 days production 2 days classes but then i guess if i have that i would moan about that also.

 I spoke to My 3d sculptor tutor Michael and also my scene shop tutor Paul about giving me work on productions. I can swear it was only 6 hours till i had lesley messaging me telling me it was Production meeting time... So umm now I appear to be  TD... TSM or Master Carpenter, I don't actually know especially when the scenic artist came up to be and told me that Lesley  said i was a fabulous painter and if i wanted to do that also it would be amazing. So umm yeah wow busy now.

The pice is either going to look fantastic or like complete rubbish which it literally is. The Production tells of a crumbing kingdom. The walls are flat frames with wire mesh. We have 7000 frosted plastic bottles to attach to these walls and then to give a white wash to. The bottles also looking fantastic under light and i think the lighting designer will have a lot of fun playing. The ideal of the design is that it will design and develop all the way through the poduction  process. Going to be really interesting to take on this new role and experiment

On the Plus Side Good Times Below

life drawing

It like i have never been anywhere else.... ( odd thoughts and rambling)

I walked out of my apartment today across to the main gallery so i could finish my homework and it dawned on me im leaving in just 3 months.  Everyone i study with has at least 2 years left but not me, even at home its only 1 1/2 years and then its job time. I sat down with my friend Rocky to finish our drawings and before he even said hello to me he said "Its gonna be so weird without you and Rose here next year it feel like your just normal students" Im not to sure what put that thought in the Air. I thought about it and i never really realised how normal my days/weeks  feel. How much i feel like i will be attending this school for years. Most of the student here have girlfriend/boyfriends/friends that live plane journeys away so it feels normal. I miss my fiance, family and friends so much and cant wait to get back and see them but  it feels like this is where i have aways studied, like these are the friends i have always have. It a really strange feeling like there are 2 lifes running parrael and the other me is still in glasgow working away at the Rsamd doing silly hours in the Bar and never having enough time to even draw. When i get back thats not gonna be me. No more silly hours working, Im going to spend as much time with the ones i love as i can and as much time drawing,painting and creating wonderful things as I can... I just cant believe i have to leave these wonderful people at some point and there lives are just going to keep on going the same as every just like whats happening in Glasgow right now.

Dont normally do that...

Dont think i have ever continued a life drawing after the class before .... its intresting

face .. clean it up and a little more fabric work .. getting there :)
